You have to hand it to PETA, they know how to make things interesting for their cause. Details on the events after the jump.

Press release from PETA:

Wearing skimpy outfits that would make the Good Humor Man blush, PETA's sexy "Cleavage Cavalier" beauties will hand out free Tofutti Cuties (nondairy ice cream sandwiches) in Cleveland on Thursday to help residents keep their cool despite former Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James' decision to sign with the Miami Heat. Along with the tasty treats, the PETA supporters will distribute leaflets detailing how choosing nondairy treats can lead to more than just immediate heat relief.

"We want to help Clevelanders 'beat the heat' in more ways than one—by easing the pain of LeBron's departure and by showing them that they can be part of the solution to climate change," says PETA Cleavage Cavalier Marcia Masulla. "Choosing delicious dairy-free and cholesterol-free foods is good for your health and the planet and helps prevent the suffering of cows on dairy factory farms."

There are many reasons to choose dairy-free foods. Cows on dairy factory farms are genetically and chemically manipulated to produce unnaturally high quantities of milk, and many cows contract mastitis, a painful infection of the udder. These cows are milked despite being sick, and their milk often contains elevated levels of pus. Animals become worn out and are sent to slaughter when they reach only a fraction of their natural life span. A dairy-free diet can also lower the risk of cancer, heart disease, and obesity in adults as well as allergies, ear infections, and juvenile-onset diabetes in children. Plus, raising animals for food is a major cause of greenhouse-gas emissions.
