Portage APL helping grant wishes for homeless animals this holiday

By Ohio.com Published: December 7, 2012

The following is a press release from the Portage County Animal Protective League

RAVENNA, Ohio (December 7, 2012) – Portage APL is hoping holiday wishes will come true for some of their homeless animals this season. So to show their gratitude, the APL is giving away a brand new, cozy blanket, toy and treats with each adoption. Also, the first 12 cat adopters will get a Martha Stewart cat scratcher! This promotion will begin Tuesday December 11th and run through the end of December.

“Especially around the holidays (and all year) we wish for these sweet, homeless animals to be in warm, loving, fur-ever homes.” says Chalan Lowry, Executive Director. “Holidays can be a busy time for some, but for others may have a few extra days off work and have more time to spend with a new pet. The more animals we find homes for, the more animals we can take in.”

All dogs and cats adopted are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered, checked for appropriate disease and free of fleas and worms. Many are also microchipped and have an additional medical history. Please open you heart and home to a pet this holiday! Adoption fees are $50 for cats and $150 for dogs. What a deal!

The Portage APL is a private, nonprofit organization and relies on the generosity and kindness of individuals and businesses to make our community a safer place for thousands of animals who have no voice. We continue to rescue animals every day and the need is constant. Please give a needy animal a loving place to call home!
