The best pet choices for owners with allergies

Some who want pets say no due to allergy reasons. But not every pet (not even every dog) will cause allergy problems because of dander. Family and parenting site Babble.com recently named the eight best pets for people with allergy problems.

Among the dogs are a Portugese water dog, a Bichon Frise and all varieties of poodle. The common theme of each dog? Each has curly hair, doesn't shed a lot and requires frequent grooming.

Among cats, the site suggests the short-haird Devon Rex and the hairless Sphynx. But there's more allergy-safe pets other than traditional cats and dogs. The site suggests rabbits, a hamster or gerbil and even a turtle.
