Winter Break Camp ­— Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is bringing back Winter Break Camp for kids ages 5-8. Camp runs from Dec. 30 to Jan. 3 with half-day (from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and full-day (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) sessions available. Kids will meet in the Jungle Lab classroom at the RainForest before exploring the zoo to learn about how animals stay active during winter and how zookeepers keep them comfortable year around. Pawsibilities Rummage Sale — Final day for the Humane Society of Greater Akron rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Stow-Kent Shopping Center, 4301 Kent Road, Stow. Lots of home goods, holiday decor, toys and collectables. For more information on the event, visit www.summithumane.org. Proceeds will be used to help rescue, rehabilitate and care for abused, neglected or abandoned animals and finding loving “forever” homes for them.

Fill a Fire Truck —The Stark Fire Department Rehab Unit is sponsoring the second annual holiday pet food drive through New Year’s Day. Donations may go to the Alliance Fire Department arson dog Gretchen who provides K-9 arson services free throughout the area, or to the general pet food drive which will be distributed to needy, no-kill animal shelters in the area.
