They won’t be allowed to sit on the whimsical doghouses, but dogs are invited to visit Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens on Sundays during the run of Barkitecture.
WoofWalk Sundays are designed for guests to bring their dogs (on a leash) to stroll the gardens and grounds from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There’s even a special Stan Hywet membership created just for their canine friends. Dogs may join Joe’s Club, a new membership category, for a fee of $15, - this add on to a regular “people” membership includes admission to any and all Woof Walks. Single day admission is $5 each for dogs.
Barkitecture sponsors, One of a Kind Pet Rescue and County of Summit Division of Animal Control will be at Stan Hywet every Sunday during the run of Barkitecture with information on pet rescue and dog adoption opportunities.
In addition, a number of special programs are planned in conjunction with Woof Walk Sundays:
On May 24, and June 7, Dr. Neal Sivula will discuss Holistic Medicine & Nutrition. Swain Photography will take photos of pets with their families on May 31 and June 28. Demonstrations on Pet CPR, Pet Bandaging, Wellness Assessment and Pet Breathing will take place on June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and local author Terence Cranendonk will sign copies of “The Puppy Whisperer” on May 31, from noon to 2 p.m.
Woof Walk Sundays continue through November 1, however there are no Woof Walks on June 21 and October 4, due to special events taking place on those dates.
