I tout adoptions statistics for the four major animal rescue operations in Summit County as proof that here, at least, we seem to be doing something right for homeless animals.

Q: Our Zoie, a 12-year-old mixed-breed female, has lost her bladder functions at night. For the last two months, I have had to change her bedding each morning. Diapers do not stay on her.

Like many people, I have always loved animals. That sentiment didn’t prevent me from getting bitten in the face by a dog when I was about 4 years old.

Q: I am 92 years old and live in a retirement village with a 9-year-old Boston terrier that will not get into his cage when I leave the house.

For more than 30 years, Ken McCort has been considered an elite animal trainer — the trainer of last resort. He’s the man people turn to when other trainers have thrown in the towel and given up on an animal with problem behaviors.
PAWS Pet of the Week: Meet Natalie!
Natalie is the nicest girl you will ever meet...
Natalie is a three-year-old Russian Blue mix. Long haired and slight of build, she was found abandoned, hungry pregnant and scared in someone's back yard. Everyone who has met and cared for Natalie has fallen in love with her. Natalie talks to you, is very smart, knows where her toys are, and will even tell you when she wants to play. We were certain that Natalie would find a forever home very quickly since everything seemed so perfect - she is so gentle and loving.

PAWS Pet of the Week: Louie & Chu Chu
I see trees of green, kitties of gray...
And I think to myself - Louie & Chu Chu need a purrfect home today! These two beautiful gray tabby boys are young, between 1-1.5 years of age. They are being fostered together and absolutely adore each other. Louie is a tad bit shy but absolutely craves attention. After his initial jumpiness, he just wants to be loved and petted. Louie's very playful and gets along so well with other cats, particularly Chu Chu.
