By Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank
What’s Harvest for Hunger? Harvest for Hunger is successful because of grassroots, community efforts like yours! It’s a partnership between four food banks that serve 21 counties in Ohio. This collaboration represents one of the largest food and funds drives in the country and is also the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s largest fundraising campaign, which helps support free food distribution all year long.
1. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank needs your time
All food drive donations are handled at least three unique times by our team of skilled volunteers before the items can be distributed to our network of hunger-relief partners. The help volunteers supply is real, tangible, and relied on by our network of programs and those they serve who benefit from the food provided by your Foodbank. Please visit the Volunteer Opportunities page, or contact the Volunteer Department at 330.777.7579 to find the volunteer opportunity that is right for you!
2. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank needs your financial support: $1 = 4 meals
Financial donations have an immediate impact at your Foodbank. The Foodbank is in the business of receiving surplus food and financial donations allow the Foodbank to purchase items to complement its varying menu.
While both food and financial donations are extremely necessary and valued, because of the Foodbank’s large purchasing power, it can make your dollar go further. Every dollar donated to the Foodbank is the equivalent of four meals.
3. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank needs you to rally your friends and family!
The Foodbank relies on your support to feed people in need right here in our community. Rally around those struggling with hunger this spring by hosting an online, customizable Harvest for Hunger fundraiser, and generate gifts virtually.
This page also contains the video and can be showed to your staff, friends and family to get them rallying around this campaign: http://give.akroncantonfoodbank.org/hfh
4. The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank needs you to donate food: like the Super Six.
Food donations are welcome, especially the Super Six most needed food items: boxed cereal, peanut butter, canned tuna, canned vegetables, canned beef stew and canned soup.
Want to make a bigger impact? Join hundreds of local companies, schools, faith-based organizations, governmental bodies, and social groups in hosting a food & funds drive to help those in need in our community. The Foodbank will mail you all of the materials you need to make your food & funds drive a success! http://www.akroncantonfoodbank.org/campaign/harvest-hunger-campaign-2017
