Four-game suspension for steroids completed
Published on Tuesday, Oct 02, 2007
BEREA: Right tackle Ryan Tucker rejoined the Browns on Monday after serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's steroids policy.
The 11-year veteran will be allowed to practice during a week-long acclimation period. Cleveland has until Monday to activate him.
''It was hard. You take your medicine and go on with it,'' said Tucker, who is in his sixth season with the Browns.
He has played right tackle since the 2000 season with the Rams but isn't sure where the Browns will use him. Kevin Shaffer is currently at right tackle with Seth McKinney at right guard.
''I have no idea,'' Tucker said. ''I haven't talked to any coaches. We'll see.''
While he was banned from the Browns' facility, Tucker said he worked with Tim Robertson of Speed Strength Systems in Euclid and went home to Texas one weekend. He listened to the Browns' games on the radio.
''We should be 3-1, but shoulda-couldas don't count. We're playing good ball and I'm excited to be back here,'' he said.
Asked if he had any doubts whether the Browns want him, Tucker said, ''I'm not even worrying about it. I'm here to work. It's out of my hands. All I can do is show up and be a part of this team right now and try to win.''
