as OSU beats Indiana
No. 19 Ohio State 71, Indiana 59 Jantel Lavender scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead host Ohio State to a 71-59 win over Indiana on Thursday night.
Tied 41-41, Tamarah Riley was fouled on a layup with 11:44 remaining and made the free throw to give Ohio State (12-3, 3-1 Big Ten) a lead it never relinquished. The Buckeyes have won three straight.
Riley scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half to help Ohio State pull away. Marscilla Packer finished with 17 points.
Jamie Braun led all scorers with 25 points for Indiana (9-7, 2-2) while Whitney Thomas had 12 points and Kim Roberson added 11.
Indiana shot 26-for-63 from the field and was 4-for-14 from 3-point range while committing 10 turnovers.
