CALENDAR
• Today, Sunday — The fifth annual Falls Outdoor Sports Show will be at Emidio's Expo Center, 48 E. Bath Road, Cuyahoga Falls. The show is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; $2 age 8 to 12. Under 7 is free. Parking is free. The show features items and displays on fishing, boating, hunting, archery and camping. • Monday — The Western Reserve Fly Anglers will have a free demonstration and talk by Will Turek, one of Ohio's experts in spey casting with a two-handed fly rod. New members and visitors are welcome to hear about getting started in casting for steelhead with the proper equipment and casting techniques. The 7 p.m. seminar will be at the Field High School cafeteria, on State Route 43 in Brimfield. Information: 330-284-9020.
• Feb. 29, March 1 & 2 — The Berlin Bass Casters Fishing and Outdoor Expo will be at the Minerva Community Center, 300 E. First St., Minerva. Admission is $2. Under 14 are free. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There will be displays, vendors, supplies, raffles, refreshments and contests for the entire family. • March 7 — The Tusky River Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will hold its annual banquet at Raintree Country Club, 4350 Mayfair Road, Uniontown. There will be a live and silent auction with many raffle prizes. Tickets are $60 each or $80 per couple. Each ticket includes a meal and a one-year membership to the NWTF and Turkey Call Magazine. • March 8 — The Buckeye Outdoors Youth Education and Shooting Center is hosting a prime rib dinner and reverse raffle. The grand prize is $1,000. The proceeds will be used to promote firearms safety, youth shooting sports and outdoors education for the whole family. The all-you-can-eat dinner will be held at the Ohio Sportsmen Club, 1775 Jacoby Road, Copley Township. Ticket donations are $40 each. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.; dinner begins at 6 p.m. Tickets, which include dinner and a one-year membership in the NWTF are $50 each, $70 per couple, and $25 for those 17 and under. Those purchasing an Ohio hunting license for the first time must complete the hunter education course. Additionally, Ohio hunters seeking licenses in other states may be required to show proof that they completed such a course. No charge. Information: 800-WILDLIFE (800-945-3543).
