The senior combination of quarterback Neal Seaman and receiver Brandon Mathie connected for three touchdowns Thursday night to lead host Louisville over Ravenna 29-15 in the opening football game for both teams.
Seaman completed 21-of-31 passes for 230 yards. Mathie had nine receptions for 134 yards.
The tandem hooked up on scores of 25, 23 and 20 yards.
Louisville senior Dane Mathie rushed for a 35-yard touchdown and had 135 total yards on 26 carries.
The Leopards led 14-0 at halftime, but the Ravens closed the deficit to 21-15 heading into the fourth quarter.
Seaman and seniors Bryan Kuhn and Marcus Samblanet each had an interception for Louisville.
Ravenna senior Blayre Davis rushed for one touchdown. He was limited to 29 yards on 11 carries. He had 71 receiving yards on four catches.
Canton South 26, Dover 17 Junior running back Justin Keith scored second-half touchdowns on runs of 8 and 4 yards as the visiting Wildcats overcame an early 10-0 deficit.
The Wildcats got back into the game with a pair of passing touchdowns featuring the combination of quarterback Matt Trissel and wide receiver Jordan Ryba. The seniors connected from 26 and 34 yards.
Canton South led in total yardage 400-302 and forced four Dover turnovers. The Tornadoes struck for a 96-yard scoring pass in the first quarter and led 17-14 at halftime but were shut out in the second half.
Avon 27, Aurora 24 Senior receiver Matt Logan caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Ryan O'Rourke with five seconds remaining in the game to lift the Eagles (1-0) over the host Greenmen (0-1).
Seniors Chris Jenkins (81 yards, one TD) and Steven Yung (92 yards) paced Aurora's rushing game. Greenmen junior Eric Schultz scored two rushing touchdowns.
Avon senior Marquis Harrell rushed for a 33-yard touchdown and converted three extra points. O'Rourke threw three touchdown passes.
Aurora failed to convert on all four extra-point attempts.
