The charter class of the Copley Sports Hall of Fame was announced at Copley's home football game Friday night against Orrville. It formally will be presented at the home basketball game Dec. 12 and honored at a dinner Dec. 13 at Rosemont Country Club. Charter members (with year of graduation and sports played) are:
Mitch Adamek (1979; basketball).
Arthur Bailey (1952; football, basketball, track).
Ray Crosier (1930; basketball).
Bruce Falb (1945; football, basketball). Returned to Copley and recorded 371 wins in 28 seasons as basketball coach.
Eli Floasin (football, basketball and track coach from 1944 until his death in 1952).
John Hoover (1966; baseball, basketball, football).
Bruce Hrycyk (1969; football, wrestling, track).
Denise Johns (1996; volleyball, track, swimming).
Mike Koch (1987; cross country, track).
Sue Lilley-Nevar (1976; volleyball, basketball, softball).
Rochelle Parent (1997; volleyball, basketball, track).
Ray Pryear (1965; basketball).
Jeff Tabaka (1982; baseball).
Dave Wenger (1977; football, track, wrestling).
