With just more than two weeks left until training camp, the Cavaliers appear to have completed their roster.
After a summer of intense negotiations, the team came to terms with restricted free agent guard Delonte West today.
West has agreed to a two-year contract with a team option for the 2011-12 season. According to league sources, the deal is worth between $4 million and $5 million per season.
The combo guard is heading into his fifth season and averaged 10.3 points per game and 4.5 assists per game last season. He scored 10.8 points per game and had 4.2 assists per game in the playoffs.
The Cavs acquired West at the trading deadline last year as part of a 10-player, three-team deal.
He was the starting point guard for last part of the season and during the playoffs, but is expected to back up newly acquired point guard Mo Williams.
The Cavs have scheduled a conference call later today to announce the news.

I can't hate that. But, he had better produce. Nothing less than the title will satisfy us now.
oh, boy.
Terry, he wasn't signed to start again...He's now a back up....We've go Mo betta things...
Only 3 comments Bruce...I know, I'm guilty....
I miss Topix...
So a question for Windy, is a 2 year guaranteed deal with 2 option years, or just 1 option year. The article is a bit confusing since it mentions 2011/2012 as the option year, which would really make it a 2nd option year. Just a typo I'm guessing?
I miss Topix too.
Ohio.com is a bunch of facist Nazi's... Love Delonte back, and he's depth behind Mo and whoever starts at 2 guard. I'm guessing they showcase Wally's corpse, hope he shoots well, and pawn him and Andy off for a big-time PF who can score. Suddenly the Beast of the East is in Cleveland, if that happens. I like rotating Mo, Delonte, and Gibson... nice trio of guards who do different things very well. Where's the credit to Ferry??????
Well after all the turmoil he provided during the off-season he better produce behind Mo.
First of all, I also dislike to new comments forum. We've seen a massive drop in Cavs commentary as a result. BOO! While I don't think this is the piece that puts the Cavs over the top, it's definitely a piece that fits the puzzle very well. I like the idea of Williams and West startin together, then sliding West over to the point to bring Gibson off the bench, then Williams back at the point for a couple minutes to rest West. Shuffle Pavlovic and Kinsey in as needed for size on defense, and I think it's a very solid backcourt rotation. You'd have to think Szczerbiak's days are numbered, but imagine if he gives us anything off the bench, or we get any kind of contribution from the impending Varejao trade. This team stays healthy, and I figure the Cavs for the second best record in the Eastern Conference, if not the NBA.
Great signing. The option year is 2010/2011 (typo by BW). If Cavs decline to pick up third year they have to pay Delonte 500,000. They still have the same ton of cap room after the 2009/2010 season that they did before, so they can try to get Wade or Bosh and then re-sign Lebron. Cavs have 20 million in expirings to deal before the deadline with Wally and Snow's contracts, that should land a major impact player (I would look to land a PF). I do not think MB is going to start Mo and Delonte in the backcourt, too small at 6'1" and 6'2". I think it will be Mo and Sasha 6'7" (best perimeter defender), although there will be times in the games where you will see Mo & Gibson, or Mo and Delonte on the floor together. I just don't think MB will start off the game with that small of a lineup. This team is deep!, MB will have his work cut out figuring out how to spread the 240 minutes. I think Wright, Kinsley, and Wally will be the ones getting very sporadic minutes. I read the Lebron will play some minutes at the PF spot this year, which he did in the Olympics too. This really is the year.
