What: Sixth annual event featuring full marathon, half marathon and marathon relay teams.

When:
Races begin at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Where:
Races start at 177 S. Broadway St. and finish at Canal Park.

New this year:
2008 USA Women's 8K Championship, featuring several of the country's top female distance runners.

FUN FACTS

• All full marathon finishers receive a free pair of Brooks running shoes.
• All runners receive free gear bags from FedEx Custom Critical.
• Family and friends can receive text messages notifying them of a runner's progress through a new partnership with Saturn.
• More than 60 entertainment spots are set up along the race route.

KEY EVENTS
Friday
11 a.m. to 9 p.m.: University of Akron Health & Fitness Expo, John S. Knight Center. Free. More than 80 booths.
Saturday
7 a.m.: Marathon, half marathon and relays start at 177 S. Broadway St. Top finishers will reach Canal Park shortly after 9 a.m.
7:30 a.m.: USA Women's 8K Championship starts at 177 S. Broadway St. Top finishers will reach Canal Park before 8 a.m.
8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Post-race awards and entertainment inside Canal Park Stadium. Free.
9 a.m.: Kids Fun Run starts at Spaghetti Warehouse restaurant and finishes at Lock 3 Park. Free to all children 14 and younger.

TELEVISION

Time Warner Cable will broadcast marathon coverage on a tape-delay basis on position 23. Air times are:
• 9 p.m. Sept. 29.
• 7 p.m. Oct. 1.
• 4:30 p.m. Oct. 4
