Five things to watch: Browns-Bills

1. Brady throws deep?

The playbook was limited in quarterback Brady Quinn's first NFL start 11 days ago against Denver, a 34-30 loss. The Browns relied on a dink-and-dunk attack, with 17 of Quinn's 23 completions going to tight ends or running backs. Ten of those (for 111 yards and a career-high two touchdowns) went to tight end Kellen Winslow. The Bills will try to shut down Winslow, so coordinator Rob Chudzinski will have to include some long throws to Braylon Edwards and Donte' Stallworth, weather-permitting. Asked whether Denver was the tip of the iceberg as far as his arsenal was concerned, Quinn played it cagey. ''I guess so. I don't know. We'll have to wait and see,'' he said. Edwards, who has dropped 13 passes this season, caught only one pass against the Broncos. But in the bright lights of Monday Night Football, Edwards will turn it on, just as he did Oct. 13 against the New York Giants. He totaled five catches for a career-high 154 yards and a touchdown in the upset of the defending Super Bowl champs. The only question is what gymnastics stunt Edwards has planned for pregame introductions. ''I might introduce the defense,'' Browns coach Romeo Crennel joked.

2. Cleveland's pass rush.

After blowing double-digit, third-quarter leads in the past two games, Crennel will rotate players at the inside and outside linebacker and safety spots to try to keep his defense fresher. That means Shantee Orr might get some snaps opposite Willie McGinest, taking 2006 No. 1 pick Kamerion Wimbley off the field. Wimbley, the underachieving outside linebacker, has just two sacks (one in the past five games), while 2008 seventh-round choice Alex Hall has three. ''That's why I came here, to get back to a 3-4 after they changed to a 4-3 in Houston,'' Orr said. ''It better fits my abilities.'' Orr knows pressure from the outside is important in Crennel's scheme to funnel the quarterback toward Pro Bowl nose tackle Shaun Rogers. ''That's the key to any defense when you've got a dominating guy on the inside,'' Orr said.

3. Bills quarterback Trent Edwards.

Buffalo has lost three in a row to Miami, the Jets and New England and Trent Edwards has thrown five of his seven interceptions this season and lost two fumbles in that span. Edwards' passer rating of 86.9 ranks 17th in the league. But teammates don't seem to have lost confidence in the third-round pick in the 2007 draft out of Stanford. ''He's the leader of our offense and we go as he goes,'' receiver Lee Evans said. ''Over the last couple weeks, things haven't been going as well for us, so we need to try to work our way out of it. He certainly has the mindset to do that, and I'm very optimistic about it. You can just tell that his leadership and everything has come twofold since last year.''

4. Travis Daniels/Brandon McDonald vs. Evans.

Crennel might start cornerback Daniels, a four-year veteran acquired from Miami in an Aug. 20 trade, in place of second-year cornerback Brandon McDonald, who has struggled in the past two games. Daniels could spend most of the night covering Bedford High School product Evans, who is tied for seventh in the league with 700 receiving yards (on 37 catches, with three touchdowns). His 18.92 yards per catch ranks ninth in Bills' history. ''Lee Evans is a very talented receiver, a lot of speed. You can expect big plays out of him all the time,'' Daniels said. ''When you get in front of him, you've got to be ready.'' Daniels expects the Bills to come after him, but said, ''I've played against these guys before. It's not my first time seeing Lee Evans or being in Buffalo playing. They know me pretty well.''

5. Browns backup running back Jerome Harrison.

Harrison rushed four times for 44 yards and caught one pass for 9 yards in the first half against Denver to help the Browns build a 20-10 lead. Then he touched the ball only once the rest of the way in a heartbreaking loss. In the previous two games against Jacksonville and Baltimore, Harrison had just one carry in each. Chudzinski might have been hesitant to use Harrison for fear of offending starter Jamal Lewis. But Lewis says he cares first about winning, so chances are he wouldn't argue if the quicker Harrison can become a spark and perhaps open things up for him. ''We're going to try to see if we can be a little bit more consistent on getting the ball in his hands,'' Crennel said of Harrison.

The Browns should play a defense close to the line of scrimage with one deep back only..and temp Trent to throw long passes.... but he will run it in the first half and with 9 men up front that should stop the Bills...

Brady should use all his running plays and then stay with the runs that work best...there will be plenty of time to throw in the second half....but Edwards and other eceivers should run deep as decoys....

Then the Browns should win 21 to 7 or something like that...

The only thing left of this season is to get Quinn playing time. Crennel is on his way out and he knows it. Hopefully he'll take Tucker and Chud with him. Cleveland has the talent, just needs a coaching staff.
