No. 5 Connecticut 61, No. 25 West Virginia 55 — Jeff Adrien scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half and Connecticut beat West Virginia on Tuesday night.
Hasheem Thabeet added 13 points and 13 rebounds for visiting Connecticut (13-1, 2-1 Big East). With the victory, Huskies coach Jim Calhoun moved past Lefty Driesell into seventh place on the NCAA career wins list with 787.
West Virginia (11-3, 1-1), making its season debut in the rankings, had its worst shooting performance from the floor at 30.3 percent. The Mountaineers were outrebounded 52-33 and managed just three field goals over the final eight minutes.
Da'Sean Butler and Alex Ruoff scored 13 apiece for West Virginia, which saw its five-game winning streak snapped and lost for the first time at home this season.
Arkansas 67, No. 7 Texas 61 — Michael Washington scored 22 points, including a driving dunk with 22.5 seconds remaining, to help host Arkansas upset Texas.
A week after knocking off No. 4 Oklahoma, the Razorbacks led Texas 62-61 and had the ball in the final minute. Their play appeared to break down, but the 6-foot-9 Washington suddenly had a clear path to the basket. He was fouled as he dunked and made the free throw to put Arkansas (12-1) ahead by four.
A.J. Abrams missed three consecutive shots at the other end, and Stefan Welsh added a breakaway layup to finish the scoring.
Welsh scored 20 points for the Razorbacks. Damion James led Texas (11-3) with 17.
The Longhorns went 1-of-14 from 3-point range.
Penn State 67, No. 14 Purdue 64 — Talor Battle scored 21 points as host Penn State lost an early 15-point lead before rallying to beat Purdue.
Stanley Pringle added 18 points for the Nittany Lions, (13-3, 2-1 Big Ten), who are off to their best start in 13 seasons.
E'Twaun Moore led the shorthanded Boilermakers (11-4, 0-2) with 21 points.
No. 12 Clemson 66, Alabama 59 — Trevor Booker had 19 points to help Clemson remain unbeaten with a victory over visiting Alabama.
The Tigers (15-0) needed a stellar defensive effort down the stretch to hold off the Crimson Tide (10-4).
Alabama led 42-41 after Yamene Coleman's basket with 14:16 to go. Then Clemson set off on 14-0 run to take control. Rivers had two jumpers in the stretch while Terrence Ogleby made a runner and a 3-pointer.
No. 18 Villanova 89, Seton Hall 85, OT — Scottie Reynolds matched his career high with 40 points, and Villanova made its last 18 free throws to beat host Seton Hall.
Reynolds, who was 15-of-16 from the line, made two free throws with 21 seconds left in regulation to give the Wildcats (13-3, 1-1 Big East) a 76-73 lead over the Pirates (9-6, 0-3).
Jeremy Hazell, who scored 23 points in the game's first 241/2 minutes, banked in a shot from about 26 feet with 9.2 seconds left to tie it.
Reynolds missed a driving shot as time expired.
Dante Cunningham gave Villanova the lead for good at 85-83 with two free throws with 58 seconds left.

Rhode Island 86, Toledo 77 — Kahiem Seawright had 16 points and went 4-for-4 on free throws as visiting Rhode Island handed Toledo its seventh consecutive loss.
The Rockets and the Rams had 32 field goals each, including eight 3-pointers per team.
Rhode Island (11-4) had a five-point lead at the break, and pulled ahead by as many as 13 points in the second half.
Jimmy Baron added another 16 points for the Rams, Keith Cothran scored 15 and Will Martell had 12. Toledo (2-12) was led by Tyrone Kent's 29 points.
Dayton 45, Miami (Ohio) 40 — Charles Little sparked a rally with 4:31 left in the game to help host Dayton surge past Miami of Ohio in a close matchup.
Dayton (14-1) outscored Miami (7-5) 10-4 in the game's waning minutes, with Little's layup putting Dayton back on top 37-36. The Flyers never lost the lead after that.
Chris Wright was the game's top scorer with 14 points and six rebounds for Dayton. Julian Mavunga came off the bench to lead scoring for Miami with 12 points.
