Offensive tackle Chris Kemme of the University of Akron has been signed as a free agent by the Detroit Lions.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Kemme was first-team all-Mid-American Conference as a senior in 2008 and was second-team all-MAC as a junior in 2007 and as sophomore in 2006.
He played in 47 games in his UA career, starting the final 44 games.

Props to Chris. Maybe he can help turn that sordid franchise around. . .
Congrats Chris- Good Luck
what kind of contract $$ wise would you get for this?
Rookie minimum, somewhere around 200k I believe.
Glad to see another MAC player drafted by the NFL!
