Offensive tackle Chris Kemme of the University of Akron has been signed as a free agent by the Detroit Lions.
The 6-foot-6, 310-pound Kemme was first-team all-Mid-American Conference as a senior in 2008 and was second-team all-MAC as a junior in 2007 and as sophomore in 2006.
He played in 47 games in his UA career, starting the final 44 games.
