CALENDAR
• Today Gander Mountain will host a free talk called A Walk in the Forest with Julie Powell. She will cover mushroom and tree identification at 1 p.m. at the Gander Mountain store, 4938 Portage St. NW, Jackson Township. Call: 330-498-0995.
• Today The 37th Annual North Canton Mayor's Fishing Rodeo, sponsored by the North Canton Eagles, will be at the Price Park Pond from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Prizes and refreshments available. Children ages 2 to 12 who live in the North Canton School District are eligible to join the competition. Information: e-mail mayor@northcantonohio.com.
• Monday The Summit Sportsman's Association meets on the second Monday of the month at the Polish American Club on Dan Street at Glenwood Avenue in Akron from September through June. The club is a mixture of hunters and fishermen. Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome. Call: 330-753-4453.
• June 11 The Goodyear Hunting & Fishing Club, 1221 Wingfoot Lake Road in Suffield Township, holds its meetings the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. New members are welcome. Contact: Bob Schilling, 330-882-4939.
• June 13 Gander Mountain, 4938 Portage St. NW, Jackson Township, will host a class called Modern Techniques in Bass Fishing. Jeff Koerner will lead this free seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. Call: 330-498-0995.
• June 13 The Portage Lakes Bass Masters will host a big bass tournament on Lake Milton at the Pointview Ramp beginning at 6 a.m. Entry fee is $50. There will be one bass weighed per boat. Contact: Tom Freshly at 440-548-5914.
• June 21 The Portage-Summit Field & Stream Club, 8504 U.S. 224, Deerfield Township, holds its meetings on the third Sunday of each month. • Tuesday Trap shoots will be held at the Portage-Summit Field & Stream Club, 8504 U.S. Route 224, Deerfield Township, from 6 to 9 p.m. The Tuesday shoots will be held through October. Information: http://www.psfs-club.org.

• Sunday The Goodyear Wingfoot Bowhunters Club, 425 E. Waterloo Road, Suffield Township, will host a 3-D archery target shoot and a swap meet. A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Sign up for the shoot between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Call: 330-633-5292.
• June 13 Beaver Creek Sportsman Club, 11480 Washingtonville Road, Washingtonville, will have 3-D archery shoot from noon to 3 p.m. The kitchen is not open for Saturday shoots. • June 13 The Lost Arrow Youth Trophy Shoot will be held at the Lost Arrow Archery Club, off of state Route 241 near Massillon. Reservations are being accepted for the 9 a.m. start. All bows welcome. There will be three age groups up to age 15. Cost is $5. Shooters must be accompanied by an adult. Information: 330-828-2372.
• June 14 Beaver Creek Sportsman Club, 11480 Washingtonville Road, Washingtonville, will host 3-D archery shoots on the second Sunday of each month.
