Aeros snapshot

Aeros 7, SeaWolves 4
Key stats: Aeros starter Jeanmar Gomez struck out eight in seven innings. He allowed two earned runs, both solo home runs, and four hits. He walked none. Offensively, Mickey Hall drove in two runs and Jerad Head had a triple and a home run, his fifth of the season.

Key moment: With the score tied at two in the sixth inning, the Aeros caught a lucky break. After a walk to Weglarz and a single by Carlos Santana, Beau Mills sent a ball back to SeaWolves pitcher Pat Stanley. Stanley's throw sailed past first base, allowing Weglarz to score on the error. Second baseman Shawn Roof then tried to get Mills at second and threw the ball into left field and Santana scored.

Star of the game: Gomez improved his record to 8-3 by throwing seven strong innings, striking out eight and allowing four hits.

Up next: The Aeros continue their four-game series against the SeaWolves at 7:05 tonight at Canal Park. Newly acquired right-hander Connor Graham will make his debut for the Aeros. The SeaWolves will counter with right-hander Jonah Nickerson (7-7, 5.12 ERA).
