The University of Akron women's basketball team lost its third consecutive game Sunday, a 63-49 setback to Wright State at the Nutter Center in Dayton.
The Zips jumped out to a 12-3 lead, but a nine-point swing by the Raiders quickly tied the score and a 13-4 surge to start the second half allowed them to take control.
Senior Jolene Tamboue led UA with 11 points and sophomore Kyle Baumgartner (North Canton Hoover) had seven rebounds.
Kara Murphy (St. Vincent-St. Mary) finished with nine points and five rebounds and freshman Rachel Tecca (Archbishop Hoban) had five points and five rebounds for the Zips.
Akron shot 34.7 percent (17-of-49) from the field, 22.2 percent (2-of-9) from 3-point range and 56.5 percent (13-of-23) from the free-throw line.
Kanisha Ward led Wright State with 16 points.
The Zips will continue their road trip Friday and Saturday against Rider and Tulsa in the Florida Gulf Coast Tournament.
