BEREA: Are injuries starting to creep into the Browns' world?
The team Tuesday sent linebacker Willie McGinest to his personal physician in Los Angeles to have his ailing back examined.
Guard Eric Steinbach then left practice early to have his right knee examined.
Coach Romeo Crennel said Steinbach fell on his knee while the team practiced in the indoor facility and guessed Steinbach had a bruise.
''We're having it evaluated,'' Crennel said.
Steinbach walked off the practice field with no assistance.
McGinest first missed Monday due to tightness in his back. He asked the Browns if he could visit his personal physician, and the team said yes.
''There's something that caused the tightness and the pain issue so we're going to get it fully evaluated and try and go from there,'' Crennel said.
Is he concerned?
''Well, he was up walking around and everything,'' he said. ''We'll just have to see after the doctor evaluates it and then we'll have a better idea about where it is and what we can anticipate.''
Crennel reported several other bumps and bruises, including receiver Tim Carter, who missed practice after he got hit on the thumb.
In addition, defensive back DeMario Minter (foot), defensive lineman Orpheus Roye (knee), guard Isaac Sowells (concussion), cornerback Kenny Wright (groin) and linebacker Matt Stewart (shoulder) missed practice.
Offensive lineman Andrew Hoffman left practice after being hit on the elbow. noweb
