Revere's 309 wins Suburban League tournament

The Minutemen would finish with a team score of 309 as they took first place in the Suburban League postseason tournament to clinch the league title outright.
Cloverleaf (322) captured second in the tournament, and Tallmadge (329) finished third.
Hill shot a 4-over 75 to lead Revere to its third consecutive postseason league tournament title. He birdied two holes and made par on 12 others. Alfieri (78), junior Tom Kimberly (77) and junior Mack Kerker (79) rounded out the top four for Revere, which shared the Suburban League championship with Green in 2006.
''We do have six players who can shoot in the 70s,'' Revere coach Jed McKnight said. ''We have these kinds of days, obviously, when you get three or four of them who come together on the same day. We have a nice luxury right now.''
Revere's dominance this season is impressive because the Minutemen do not have a senior.
''I think about it because I know that they're going to make my job easier for another year,'' McKnight said. ''They do a great job. We're young, but we have experience.''
Cloverleaf senior Parker Hewit and Tallmadge sophomore Matt Wellman each shot 74s to tie for the tournament's best individual score.
Hewit, who has earned at least a share of the tournament's top individual spot three times, birdied two holes and parred 11. Hewit, a Bowling Green State University recruit, was at even-par after 15 holes, but he bogeyed three of his last four.
''I've played a lot better,'' Hewit said. ''I only hit one fairway. I was scrambling the whole day and making lots of good putts for par.''
The 15-year-old Wellman was a surprise. He shot his best round of the season to tie the established Hewit.
''Tying somebody like him boosts my confidence a lot,'' said Wellman, who parred 12 holes and eagled the 523-yard, par-5 No. 14. ''If I play like this at sectionals, I'll make districts easily.''
