Aeros starting pitcher Danny Salazar gave up one hit and struck out 12 through six scoreless innings in a win over the Curve on Thursday in Altoona, Pa.
Salazar, a member of the Indians’ 40-man roster, retired the first 12 batters he faced, including six consecutive strikeouts in the second and third innings.
The Aeros scored two runs in the top of the first inning on an RBI single by Chun Chen and an RBI single by Quincy Latimore.
The Aeros made it 3-0 in the sixth inning when Carlos Moncrief scored from first base on a dropped pop-up and added an insurance run in the ninth when Tyler Holt scored from third on an error by the pitcher.
The Aeros return home at 7:05 tonight to play the Bowie Baysox in the first game of a three-game series.
