Aeros 10, Thunder 6
Jesus Aguilar hit a two-run single and Kyle Bellows hit a two-run double in the top of the ninth inning to break a 6-6 tie and give the visiting Aeros a 10-6 Eastern League win over the Thunder on Wednesday.
Aguilar hit a two-run single in the top of the third inning to tie the score 2-2 after the Thunder scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Aeros scored a run in the top of the fifth and two runs in the top of the sixth on a two-run home run by Giovanny Urshela and a run in the seventh inning on an RBI double by Rob Segedin to take a 6-2 lead before the Thunder scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the score.
Aeros starting pitcher Matt Packer gave up two runs on nine hits and struck out three in a no decision. Relief pitcher Bryce Stowell pitched the eighth inning and struck out three and gave up one hit to earn his first win of the season.
The Aeros return home today to open a four-game series against the Bowie Baysox. Tonight’s first pitch is at 6:35 and the game will be broadcast on WARF (1350-AM).
