Aeros 4, Baysox 2
Adam Abraham drove in three runs in the Aeros’ 4-2 Eastern League win over the Bowie Baysox Monday at Prince George’s Stadium in Bowie, Md.
In the second inning, Abraham singled with one out to drive in Nick Weglarz and Juan Diaz to put the Aeros ahead 2-0. Weglarz had opened the inning with a single and Diaz had walked before they moved to third and second, respectively, on a wild pitch.
After Jeremie Tice struck out, Davis Stoneburner singled home Abraham with two outs for a 3-0 lead.
Abraham made it 4-0 with a one-out solo home run to center field in the fourth inning off reliever Robert Hinton, who had just entered the game for starter and loser Chris Tillman (0-1, 8.10).
Paolo Espino (4-2, 3.41) pitched the first five innings to get the win for the Aeros, giving up two runs on six hits, walking two and striking out five.
Tyler Sturdevant, Loek Van Mil and Preston Guilmet combined to pitch the final four innings, giving up no runs on two hits and three walks and striking out five. Guilmet earned his 12th save.
The Aeros are off until they begin a four-game series against the Altoona Curve at 7:05 p.m. Thursday as part of a seven-game homestand at Canal Park.
