Starting pitcher Danny Salazar allowed three hits through five innings and struck out nine for his first win of the season, and the Aeros defeated the Mets 4-0 on Friday in Binghamton, N.Y.
The Aeros (9-12) scored two runs in the third inning after a fielder’s choice and an RBI single by Jesus Aguilar. The Aeros added two more runs in the sixth inning on a two-run double by Roberto Perez.
Salazar, Austin Adams and Bryce Stowell combined to allow five hits and strike out 16 for the Aeros.
Jose Ramirez, Chun Chen and Ronny Rodriguez each had two hits and Tyler Holt had a single for the Aeros.
Mets starting pitcher Rafael Montero allowed two runs on four hits and struck out eight through five innings and took his first loss of the season.
Alonzo Harris and Allan Dykstra each had a hit for the Mets.
The Aeros play the Mets today at 1:05 p.m. The game will be broadcast on WARF (1350-AM).
