Aeros fall 5-4 to Thunder

Aeros starting pitcher Cole Cook gave up five runs on seven hits through five innings, including three runs in the first inning, in a loss to the Thunder in an Eastern League game Friday in Trenton, N.J.

The Aeros (56-62) trailed 3-0 after the first inning but scored two runs in the top of the second on an RBI groundout by Matt Lawson and an RBI single by Jose Ramirez to cut the deficit to a run. The Thunder (61-57) took a 4-2 lead after scoring a run in the bottom of the second but the Aeros rallied with a run in the third inning and tied the score on an RBI groundout by Jesus Aguilar in the fourth inning.

Cook (2-2) gave up the game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI double with two outs. The Aeros left 10 men on base and were 4-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

The Aeros play the Thunder at 7:05 tonight.
