Key situation: The Aeros led 3-0 entering the eighth inning, but reliever Cole Cook gave up three tying runs in two-thirds of an inning. Although the Aeros rallied against the Rock Cats’ bullpen for three runs in the bottom of the inning, Aeros closer Jose Flores allowed four runs for a one-run lead by the Rock Cats. The Aeros tied the game 7-7 to send it to extra innings before the Rock Cats posted a five-run 11th against Rob Bryson to win it.
Quick hits: Aeros starter and right-hander Toru Murata shut out the Rock Cats for the first seven innings, scattering five hits and not issuing a walk. … In four innings, the Aeros’ bullpen combined to allow 12 runs on 12 hits (including two home runs), four walks, two wild pitches and a hit batter.
