Baysox 10, Aeros 6
The Aeros hit the ball well Tuesday, scoring six runs on 11 hits, but the bullpen and defense let them down in an Eastern League loss to the host Bowie Baysox.
The Aeros (39-45) led 5-3 entering the bottom of the sixth inning when reliever J.D. Reichenbach replaced starter Toru Murata.
Reichenbach promptly loaded the bases and walked in a run before being removed for Shawn Armstrong, who gave up a bases-clearing double that put the Aeros in a 7-5 hole.
The Aeros cut the deficit to 7-6 in the eighth when Kyle Bellows doubled in a run, but two hits, two walks and an error in the bottom of the inning brought in three runs for the Baysox (41-39).
Carlos Moncrief led the Aeros with a single, double, his 11th home run of the season and four RBI. Ronny Rodriguez added three hits, one being a double, and scored twice, and Tyler Holt had two doubles, a walk and two runs.
