BaySox 3, Aeros 2

A two-run home run by Cedric Hunter put Akron ahead in the top of the first, but it wasn’t enough as they scored no more runs and fell 3-2 to host Bowie on Wednesday.

Francisco Lindor led off the game with a single before being driven in by Hunter.

Akron starter Toru Murata held Bowie (53-50) scoreless until the sixth, giving up a two-run homer to Caleb Joseph.

Murata struck out five and walked two in six innings.

Reliever Shawn Armstrong (0-1) earned the loss the following inning when he gave up an RBI single to Trayvon Robinson.

Designated hitter Chris Wallace was the only Aeros (51-53) batter to reach base twice, with a single and a double.

Hunter’s home run was his eighth of the season.

Reliever Clay Schrader (5-2) earned the win for Bowie. Oliver Drake pitched two innings to earn his fifth save.
