Baysox beat Aeros 8-2

Baysox 8, Aeros 2

Shoddy defense behind starting pitcher Paolo Espino got the Aeros in a hole early in Tuesday’s road loss to Bowie.

The Baysox (52-50) scored three runs in the first inning following errors by Francisco Lindor and Cedric Hunter.

Another error by Matt Lawson allowed a run to score in the third before Espino unraveled and allowed four more runs in the next two innings.

His day was finished after 4⅓, allowing eight runs (four earned) on 10 hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

He fell to 2-4 with the loss.

Akron (51-52) mustered only four singles. Carlos Moncrief led the way with two.

Both Aeros runs came in the fourth inning on a single by Lawson and a sacrifice fly by Kyle Bellows.

Lindor reached twice, both on walks.

Starter Eduardo Rodriguez picked up his first win for Bowie, improving to 1-2.
