Mets 7, Aeros 3
Relief pitcher Trey Haley allowed four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, and the host Mets defeated the Aeros in an Eastern League game in Binghamton, N.Y.
The Aeros (19-20) led 2-0 after the first inning after Chun Chen’s two-run single with one out. Kyle Bellows hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth inning to take a 3-0 lead before the Mets (21-18) scored three runs in the bottom half of the inning to tie the score.
Aeros starting pitcher Paolo Espino gave up three runs on five hits and struck out six through six innings in the no-decision. Rob Bryson worked a perfect seventh inning in relief before Haley allowed four runs on three hits in one-third of an inning.
The Aeros will play the Mets at 6:35 p.m. today in the final game of the three-game series. The Aeros return home to play Erie at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
