Rock Cats 9, Aeros 5: Reynaldo Rodriguez hits two homers, Aeros lose fourth in a row

Rock Cats 9, Aeros 5

Aeros starting pitcher Brett Brach gave up six runs on six hits, including two home runs to Reynaldo Rodriguez, and the host Rock Cats defeated the Aeros 9-5 on Thursday afternoon to sweep the three-game Eastern League series.

Rodriguez hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning and hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning to lead the Rock Cats (52-59) and send the Aeros (53-58) to their fourth consecutive loss.

The Aeros trailed 6-1 after six innings but rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh inning to trim the deficit to a run. The Rock Cats scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth to go ahead 9-5.

Jesus Aguilar hit a solo home run and Alex Monsalve hit a three-run triple to lead the Aeros. Carlos Moncrief singled and doubled and Jose Ramirez had an RBI groundout for the Aeros.

The Aeros begin a three-game series tonight in Altoona with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
