RubberDucks 2, Curve 0
Storylines: The RubberDucks entered Saturday’s home game against Altoona with an Eastern League leading 3.34 ERA. That number only grew smaller and their lead larger after Joseph Colon, Tyler Sturdevant and Kyle Crockett combined to throw a two-hit shutout. The Ducks scored their runs in the fourth and fifth innings on RBI singles by Alex Lavisky and Bryan LaHair.
Quick hits: Francisco Lindor stayed hot at the plate, narrowly missing a home run in the fourth inning when he doubled off the top of the right-field wall on a laser of a line drive. He also narrowly missed a home run on a fly ball hit to dead center field in the first. Tony Wolters and Jordan Smith each led the Ducks at the plate with two hits. Wolters reached a third time on a walk. Colon improved to 2-2 and Crockett picked up his sixth save.
Next: 2:05 p.m. today at Canal Park. The scheduled pitchers are right-hander Will Roberts (4-2, 3.57 ERA) for the RubberDucks and right-hander A.J. Morris (2-0, 1.11) for the Curve.
