Thunder 3, Aeros 2: Error leads to loss in 13th inning for Aeros

Thunder 3, Aeros 2

An error by reliever Trey Haley in the bottom of the 13th inning allowed the winning run to score for the host Trenton Thunder in an Eastern League game Saturday night.

After Aeros reliever Jose Flores walked in a run to tie the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, the game remained tied until Haley’s error in the 13th.

Slade Heathcott led the inning off with a double and scored on Haley’s throwing error.

Heathcott also hit his eighth homer in the seventh to give the Thunder (62-57) their first run.

The Aeros (56-63) scored their only two runs in the top of the third on a two-run single by Jesus Aguilar.

Toru Murata started for the Aeros and pitched well in the no-decision, striking out seven with no walks in seven innings. He allowed one earned run and four hits.

Jose Ramirez led the Aeros, going 4-for-7 with a run scored.

Alex Monsalve went 3-for-6 with a double. Haley drops to 1-2 with the loss.
