CLEVELAND: Browns quarterback Derek Anderson said Cleveland was forced Sunday to waste timeouts that would have been more wisely saved for the fourth quarter because ''the battery on the stupid headset was out.''
''It happened three or four times in the red zone and a couple [other] times in the field,'' Anderson said. ''It happened to us in the preseason. I thought we had it fixed. Those guys are the best in the NFL. They'll get it right.''
Why kick?
Some questioned why Browns coach Romeo Crennel sent Phil Dawson in for a 34-yard field-goal try with 10:13 remaining and Cleveland trailing 28-7.
Asked to explain, Crennel said, ''To get points on the board. We still had 10 minutes to go. A lot of things can happen in 10 minutes. If you don't make it, you don't have any momentum at all. At least by putting points on the board, you've got a little bit of momentum.''
LeBron in the house
Cavaliers star LeBron James was the most popular man in warm-ups, getting a hug from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and receiver Terrell Owens and chatting with Cowboys secondary coach Dave Campo. James played catch with members of his entourage and slapped hands with fans in the west end zone when he left the field.
Thin at guard
Right guards Rex Hadnot (strained right knee vs. Bears) and Ryan Tucker (hip surgery in May) were among the Browns' inactive players, leaving inexperienced Isaac Sowells as the backup to starter Seth McKinney.
Also inactive were receiver/returner Joshua Cribbs (high ankle sprain), free safety Brodney Pool (concussion), linebacker Kris Griffin (elbow), defensive lineman Ahtyba Rubin, tight end Martin Rucker (knee surgery) and quarterback Ken Dorsey.
Brownies
The Cowboys improved to 18-8 in road openers. The Browns are 27-29 in season openers all-time and fell to 15-11 overall vs. Dallas. . . . Cornerback Eric Wright recorded his second career interception. . . . Tight end Kellen Winslow's TD was the ninth of his career. . . . Cleveland's first scoring drive of 78 yards in 16 plays that consumed 8:58 equaled last year's longest (against Pittsburgh on Nov. 11) in terms of plays and surpassed the time by three seconds. . . . Dallas won the coin toss and chose to defer. . . . Best sign: ''T.O. still has B.O. (from the Gillans, Rochester, N.Y.).'' . . . Dallas cornerback Adam Jones on his first game since Dec. 31, 2006, with Tennessee: ''I wasn't nervous. It felt good. I've been waiting for this for a long time. I live for these days.''

Down 28-7 with 10 minutes to go and you kick a field goal????? Continuous illogical decisions like this are writing Romeo's ticket out of here.
Does this mean Anderson gets traded?
I think the Browns would have won if not for the headset problems
here we go with the excuses...
