The Browns re-signed fullback Eddie Williams to their practice squad and released fullback Will Ta’ufo’ou, the team announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-1, 242-pound Williams was with the Chicago Bears through training camp this year and spent the first week of the regular season on the Browns’ practice squad before being signed to the Seattle Seahawks’ active roster.
He appeared in three games with the Seahawks, rushing for 2 yards on two carries and catching one pass for 17 yards. Williams also spent one week on the Seahawks’ practice squad before being released Oct. 12.
Williams spent the entire 2010 season on the Bears’ practice squad. The Washington Redskins picked him out of the University of Idaho in the seventh round (221st overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft. He spent the first seven weeks of his rookie season on the Redskins’ practice squad before being elevated to their 53-man roster on Nov. 2, 2009. He was inactive for three games and placed on injured reserve later in the month with a broken leg.
