Position battles: Rookie Mitchell Schwartz practiced at right tackle with the first-team offense for the second consecutive time. He and Oniel Cousins had previously been alternating in that role.

Who stood out: Tight end Jordan Cameron caught touchdown passes from quarterbacks Brandon Weeden, Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace in red-zone drills.

Highs and lows: Cousins pancaked rookie defensive end William Green in a nine-on-nine drill. … In an 11-on-11, red-zone drill, Weeden fired a bullet of a pass to the back of the end zone, and tight end Benjamin Watson caught it. McCoy connected with wide receiver Rod Windsor in the back corner of the end zone. … In a seven-on-seven, red-zone session, tight end Dan Gronkowski caught a touchdown pass from McCoy with linebacker Scott Fujita covering him. Weeden hit Gronkowski and wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi with touchdown passes in the back corner of the end zone. … In an 11-on-11 session, wide receiver Josh Cribbs ran a slant route, caught a pass from McCoy and drew applause from the crowd. Wide receiver Greg Little beat the coverage of rookie cornerback Trevin Wade along the sideline, but he also dropped a pass from Weeden. Running back Montario Hardesty broke off a long run to the left, but defensive back David Sims knocked him on his backside. … The Browns said 2,774 fans attended practice.

Sidelined: Defensive end Frostee Rucker (undisclosed), defensive tackles Ahtyba Rubin (reported pelvic tear) and Phil Taylor (torn pectoral muscle), fullback Eddie Williams (undisclosed), tight end Evan Moore (undisclosed) and wide receiver Carlton Mitchell (leg).

Today’s schedule: Practice is open to the public from 8:45 to 11:15 a.m.
