LeBron scores 41 points, adds nine rebounds

CLEVELAND: The Cavaliers got a good look at Chicago Bulls rookie sensation Derrick Rose on Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena.
But Rose got even a better look at LeBron James and the Cavs, who beat the Bulls 107-93 in front of a crowd of 20,562. James scored 41 points, had nine rebounds and four assists to lead the Cavs.
It was the 25th time that he had scored more than 40 points in his career. When he scores that many, the Cavs are 20-5 record. More important, he drove to the basket, 15 of his points came on free throws.
''I really liked the way he was attacking the rim,'' Cavs coach Mike Brown said. ''The last couple of games, he's attacked the rim very well. He's going strong, quick and decisive. Tonight was no different than in Dallas.''
Not that this one turned out to be a runaway for Cleveland. In fact, the Bulls played the Cavs relatively close through two quarters. But after taking an early lead in the first quarter, the Bulls spent the rest of the game chasing the Cavs.
The Cavs eventually took a 57-45 lead into the locker room at halftime.
They built on that lead, and it looked as if they were home free in the third quarter. Not so fast.
After all, this is the third quarter and this is the Cavs, who are notorious for returning from halftime with all the bang of a cap gun.
The Bulls whittled a 17-point deficit down to seven.
Brown called a timeout to regroup the Cavs, and they responded with a 10-0 run, led by seven consecutive points from James, to take a 75-58 lead. The Cavs would end the quarter ahead by 14 points courtesy of a Wally Szczerbiak 3-point basket at the buzzer.
Brown got a lot of his team Wednesday, especially from the other starters.
Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas recorded his second double-double in a row with 15 points and 10 rebounds (plus his first 3-pointer since 2005), and Delonte West continues to look comfortable at shooting guard with 16 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor, including three 3-pointers.
It's easy to see why he wants to keep West at that spot. The wily guard gives the team another shooter and playmaker on the court who has the ability to get to the lane and wreak some havoc. On one play at 8:28 in the first quarter, West drove into the lane but spotted a wide-open Mo Williams on the left wing for a 3-point shot. On the night, West tossed in 13 points.
Then there's Big Ben Wallace who grabbed 14 rebounds, giving him his second consecutive game with 10 or more rebounds.
''He's a very big part of our team,'' James said. ''Defensively he never needs help guarding anyone in the post. He's a workhorse, and when he's healthy, it shows.''
The Cavs will take on the Indiana Pacers on Friday night. The team will play four of its next five games at home.
