Daniel Gibson grew up in Houston and is excited to get back home for the All-Star Game next weekend, but he also has business to handle.
As the Cavaliers’ player rep, Gibson will attend the union meeting Saturday morning and vote whether to fire NBPA executive director Billy Hunter. Gibson has spoken with his teammates about the situation and said they have trusted him to vote as he sees fit.
Hunter has been placed on leave by the union’s interim executive committee over accusations of poor hiring and business standards. He is expected to be removed permanently following Saturday’s meeting, but Gibson isn’t revealing how he plans to vote.
“I don’t know yet,” he said.
