Buffalo 29, Western Michigan 24
Joe Licata’s 30-yard touchdown pass to Alex Neutz in the fourth quarter proved the game winner as Buffalo topped Western Michigan at home in Mid-American Conference action.
The touchdown with 10:53 left capped a six-play, 77-yard drive that took just over two minutes.
Licata was 21-of-33 passing for 285 yards and the score.
The Broncos (4-7, 2-5) committed three turnovers after Licata’s touchdown pass, including two in Buffalo territory.
The Bulls (3-7, 2-4) jumped to a 17-0 advantage on rushing touchdowns by Branden Oliver and Devin Campbell and a 30-yard field goal by Patrick Clarke before Western Michigan scored 21 straight points on three Alex Carder touchdown passes — 17- and 27-yarders to Eric Monette and an 8-yarder to Kendrick Roberts.
Central Michigan 34, Eastern Michigan 31
Ryan Radcliff passed for 284 yards and two touchdowns and Zurlon Tipton surpassed 1,000 yards rushing for the season as Central Michigan beat Eastern Michigan on the road.
Radcliff threw touchdowns of 10 and 14 yards to Andrew Flory, who had nine catches for 188 yards for the Chippewas (4-6, 2-4 MAC). Tipton added an 11-yard touchdown run and 110 yards rushing — giving him 1,093 for the year, which is the most at Central Michigan since quarterback Dan LeFevour totaled 1,122 in 2007.
Quarterback Alex Gillett had 162 yards rushing and two touchdowns for Eastern Michigan (1-9, 0-6), which led 14-0 in the first quarter. He was 7-of-17 passing for 77 yards and a touchdown.
