Fighting Irish notebook: St. Vincent-St. Mary defeated Vincent Warren 70-51 in a state semifinal Thursday. The Irish feature three players who score in double figures: 6-foot-7 freshman guard VJ King, 6-6 junior guard Jalen Hudson and 6-6 senior forward Nick Wells. Wells had 18 points and seven rebounds Thursday. King scored 14 points and Hudson added 12 points. The other Irish starters are seniors Jordan Hargrove and Joey Weber. Top reserves are senior Fransohn Bickley and juniors Jarel Woolridge, Dante Booker, Newman Williams and Travonte Junius.

Eagles notebook: Bishop Watterson beat Kettering Archbishop Alter 53-42 in a state semifinal Thursday. The Eagles were led by 6-5 junior Matt Hughes (21 points and 10 rebounds) and 6-4 junior Matt Lehmann (14 points) in the game. Senior Bryan Jackson and juniors Cody Calhoun, Tommy Geraghty and Andy Grieser are also key players.
