The Knights got off to an early lead, scoring once in the second inning and twice in the third, but the visiting Greenmen (3-1) rallied back to score four runs in the final two innings to give the Knights a loss in their first game of the year.
Senior catcher Frank Civillo came through with a two-run single in the top of the seventh to give the Greenmen the go-ahead lead.
Civillo also excelled behind the plate, throwing out two base runners, including one in the bottom of the seventh.
Walsh Jesuit 9, St. Edward 6
After the Eagles (1-2) scored two runs to tie the score at 6-6 in the top of the fifth inning, the host Warriors (2-1) answered with a three-run fifth in the bottom of the inning to give them the lead.
Junior Ohio State recruit Nate Romans had two doubles and scored three runs for Walsh.
Senior Loyola Marymount recruit Cassidy Brown added two singles, two RBI and two runs.
Lake 6, Louisville 3
Senior second basemen Andrew Heiser singled twice with an RBI and a run scored for the visiting Blue Streaks (2-1).
Junior starting pitcher Austin Thompson struck out four batters in his four innings of work, giving up three runs while earning the win.
Stow 11, Parma Normandy 1
Freshman catcher Landry Slider hit a home run in her first high school game to help propel the host Bulldogs to an opening-day victory.
Landry also added a single, finishing with two RBI and two runs.
Sophomore starting pitcher Sadie Jones allowed one run on six hits over her five innings of work, striking out five. She helped her cause at the plate with two singles, two RBI and a run.
Ellet 12, Lawrence County (KY) 2
The Orangemen jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two innings to hand Lawrence County (7-2) their second loss of the season at the Grand Strand Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Sophomore shortstop Emily Murray singled and homered for the Orangemen (1-0), scoring three times and knocking in one run.
Wadsworth 8, Ashland 3
A solo home run off the bat of junior Sam Ryan was one of the nine hits in the Grizzlies opening-day victory.
Freshman Julia Horton added two singles, knocking in two runs.
