In an Elyria Catholic Division I sectional game, host Copley (9-14) eliminated Midview (3-20) behind Kaela Drake’s 17-point performance. Myriah Hoffman and Kiley Blachaniec each scored 11 to help the Indians advance and face Rocky River Magnificat on Thursday night.
Wadsworth 84, Clev. Lincoln West 9
The state’s fourth-ranked Division I team had no problem advancing in its first game of the Medina Division I sectional. Jodi Johnson led the Grizzlies (22-1) with 12 points.
Nordonia 66, Bedford 56
The Knights improved to 15-7 in a Chagrin Falls Division I sectional game at home. Holly Groff scored a game-high 17 points to lead Nordonia.
Norton 50, Alliance 31
Alliance stayed even after one quarter, but Norton (12-11) went on a 35-14 scoring run over the next two quarters to post a win in the Uniontown Division II sectional at home.
Brooke Robinson made three 3-pointers and handed out seven assists, and Jimi Howell scored 10 points and had nine rebounds to lead the Panthers. Zanell Dixon led the Aviators (3-17) with 11 points.
Northwest 42, Coventry 32
Host Coventry jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter of this Alliance Division II sectional game, but averaged just five points a quarter the rest of the way. Northwest (5-17) came back, led by sophomore guard Maddie Worden’s 22 points.
Revere 56, Clev. JFK 20
Freshman Viktoria Farian’s double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds led Revere (19-4) to a Division II sectional win at home.
Woodridge 52, Clev. Central Catholic 50
The Bulldogs won their Division II sectional opener, coming back from a seven-point, third-quarter deficit to outscore visiting Cleveland Central Catholic 22-13 in the fourth quarter. Woodridge (9-13) advanced behind 21 points from sophomore point guard Abbe Esterak and 19 from senior forward Sarah Kariotis.
Walsh Jesuit 6, Cleveland Heights 2
Jamie Studer’s 11 saves combined with six Warriors goals to help Walsh advance in the Kent Division I district. Walsh outshot Cleveland Heights 38-13 at the Kent State University Ice Arena.
Hudson 4, Shaker Heights 2
Bo Lori scored two goals each in the first and second periods to lead the Explorers to a Kent District win over Shaker Heights.
Stow 58, East 49
Stow (17-4) pulled away from East in a nonleague game at home led by Matt Beech’s 24 points and Jacob Williams’ 17. East (7-12) tied the game with five minutes left, but could not match the Bulldogs.
Cuyahoga Falls 69, Barberton 52
Four players scored in double figures to lead the Black Tigers to a nonleague win over visiting Barberton (8-11). Three guards combined for 41 points for Falls (14-6), led by senior Josh Ricker.
Austintown Division I sectional
Aurora dominated the team results, finishing first and sending 10 wrestlers to the Mentor Division I district. Hudson was fourth and advanced seven wrestlers.
