The loss ends the Crusaders’ run of 18 consecutive sectional championships.
The Chipps scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning on six hits, a walk and two errors by the Crusaders.
Senior Ryan Hatala homered and singled and senior Cody Busson had three singles to lead the Chipps.
Jake Krupar doubled, tripled and drove in a run and Steven Montgomery had a two-run single for the Crusaders.
Shawn Jones added an RBI single for the Crusaders.

Junior Christen Hoffman struck out 14 out of 15 batters to lead the Fighting Irish (9-11) in a Fairless Division II sectional.

Sophomores Amanda Floyd and Emily Hofer each had an RBI double for the Tigers (9-9).
No. 1 seed Alex Schaeffer of Marlington, No. 2 seed Ben Moore of St. Vincent-St. Mary and No. 3 seed Alec Bird of Canton Central Catholic all advanced to the Division II sectional quarterfinals on Thursday at the College of Wooster.
Schaeffer will play Neil Zook of Chippewa, Moore will play Jovan Jevric of Norton and Bird will play Dakota Thomas of Orrville. Kyle May of Norton and Josh Wymyslo of Canton Central Catholic will play in the fourth quarterfinal.
The No. 1 doubles team of Daniel Doan and Tyler Flickinger of Triway will play No. 4 seed Andy Udovich and Justin Bober of Archbishop Hoban and Jay Bond and Josh Reyes of St. Thomas Aquinas will face No. 2 seed Tyler Potts and Chase Krummel of Hoban in the doubles semifinal matches.
