City Series Championships

Ryan Wandling of Garfield won at first singles to help lead the Golden Rams to the City Series title Monday at Hyre Park.

Wandling was also named City Series Player of the Year.

Paul Vue and D.J. Kirkendall of the Golden Rams finished second at second and third singles, respectively, which gave Garfield 14 points.

Ellet was second with 12 points, Firestone third with 11 and Kenmore fourth with 10.

Jake Denham of Ellet defeated Vue 6-1, 2-6, 7-5 for the second singles title, and Jwe Non of North defeated Kirkendall 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 for the third singles championship.

Cameron Overstreet and Jordan Ragland of Kenmore defeated Grant Gallo and Eric Reiman of Firestone 7-6, 6-3 to win first doubles.

Firestone’s Max Winer and Alex Maguire knocked off Daniel Huggins and Stephon Mosely of Kenmore 6-3, 6-1 for the second doubles title.

Kurt Foster of North was named Coach of the Year.

Softball

Hudson 10, Orrville 0 (5 inn.)

Casey Brown and Hannah Driscoll combined to throw a shortened perfect game for the host Explorers.

Aislinn Sharkey hit her fourth home run, and Kelly Gough and Kelly DiLullo drove in three RBI.

Nordonia 1, Green 0

Sara Andrasik threw a no-hitter for the visiting Knights (15-11, 9-3).

Woodridge 2, Rootstown 0

Amy Donze tossed a no-hitter with 17 strikeouts and Samantha Schneider drove in a run for the visiting Bulldogs.

North 24, Kenmore 19

Chanda Woodall and Sydney Wasielewski each had five RBI as the visiting Vikings (3-11, 2-5 City Series) scored 10 runs in the seventh inning to win it.

Kaitlyn Morris homered and drove in two runs for the host Panthers (13-4).

Copley 6, Highland 5

Senior Emma Fish had a solo home run and scored two runs for the visiting Indians.

Junior Kaitlin Krajcik homered and drove in three runs for the Hornets.

Baseball

Mogadore 3, Windham 2

Junior Derek Valenti pitched a complete game and drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for the host Wildcats (7-9, 2-7 PTC).

Parma Senior 1

Drew Gardner had two hits and two RBI and Joe Repasky doubled and had an RBI for the visiting Black Tigers (10-11).

St. Vincent-St. Mary 17
Barberton 6 (5 inn.)

Senior outfielder Sal Faetanini drove in five runs for the visiting Fighting Irish (12-6-1).

North 13, Buchtel 9

The Vikings got their first win of the season as Zack Foster scored four runs and drove in four and Ryan Lambacher had two doubles, two triples and three RBI.
