Minutemen senior starting pitcher Nolan Dyko truly earned himself the win, holding the Blue Devils to three runs over six innings of work and delivering a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to break a 3-3 tie and give the Minutemen (1-3, 1-1 Suburban League) their first victory of the season.
Dyko also had a double in the game.
Leading the Blue Devils (1-2, 1-1) were senior designated hitter Zach Cleary with three singles, an RBI and a run, and senior Scott Noel with two singles and an RBI.

The visiting Grizzlies jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning.
After giving up three runs in the bottom half of the inning, the Grizzlies (4-0, 2-0 Suburban) answered with a five-run third, led by senior center fielder Jack Pecnik’s three-run homer. Pecnik added a single and finished with four RBI and two runs.
Junior third basemen Aden Campbell singled, doubled and drove in two runs.
Junior first basemen Devin Cunningham paced the Colts (1-2, 0-2) with three singles.
Garrettsville 11, Kent Roosevelt 5
Sophomore shortstop Nick Jurcevic stood out for the host G-Men (1-3) in a game full of big hits with a double, home run, two RBI and four runs scored.
Senior Brandon Gross homered for the Rough Riders (0-3), driving in two and scoring twice.
Waterloo 4, Norton 1
Junior starting pitcher Haley Hurd one-hit the visiting Panthers (0-1) and sophomore Brooke Collins doubled, drove in three runs and scored one to give the Vikings (1-1) their first victory of the season.
