Girls basketball

Ellet 45, North 36

Seniors Kendra Love and Dynasti Smith-Malone each scored 15 points, and the host Orangemen (2-2, 2-0) rallied from a first-quarter deficit for the City Series win.

The Vikings (0-2, 0-2) led 11-6 after the first quarter.

The Orangemen, however, went on a 13-3 run in the second quarter to take the lead for good.

Buchtel 45, East 43

Sophomore Mia Giles drove to the left side of the lane and finished with a layup as time ran down to give the host Griffins (2-2, 2-0 City Series) the lead and the victory.

Giles finished with seven points.

The Griffins were led by freshman Daichelle Hatcher with 15 points.

The performance was the second consecutive game that the freshman led the Griffins in scoring.

Heaven Jackson led the Dragons with 11 points.

Chippewa 33,
Smithville 29

The Chipps held the host Smithies to just five first-half points, but still narrowly escaped with the win.

Freshman guard Taylor Richards led the Chipps (4-1, 2-0 Wayne County Athletic) with 11 points.

Olivia Besancon led all scorers with 17 points for the Smithies (3-1, 1-1).

Dalton 41, Norwayne 38

The host Bulldogs outscored the Bobcats 14-6 in the fourth quarter to complete a comeback after entering the quarter behind 32-27.

Nicole Chupp led the Bulldogs with a double-double, posting 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Maggie Bowe led them in scoring with 12 points and also grabbed eight rebounds.

Megan Kanya added eight points and seven rebounds.

Kirsten Hilty led the Bobcats with 12 points.
