Girls basketball

Kenmore 82, East 25

The visiting Cardinals (13-4, 13-1) scored 28 points in the first quarter and cruised to a City Series win over the Dragons (4-15, 3-9).

Senior Alexis Lee scored 24 points and junior Porshae Hearn added 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Cardinals.

Sophomore Airelle Sibley led the Dragons with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Senior Charnae Coleman scored 13 points for the Cardinals.

Garfield 66, Ellet 52

Senior Stacie Heller had 20 points and eight steals and senior Brittany Dixon scored 16 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the host Golden Rams (10-7, 8-4 City Series) over the Orangemen.

Senior Quinn Parker led the Orangemen with 12 points.

Senior Lenise Latson added 12 points and Dixon also had four steals and two blocks and was 7-of-12 from the field for the Golden Rams.

North 38, Buchtel 18

Sophomore Sabria Meadows scored seven points to lead the host Vikings (2-16, 2-10 City Series) to their second win of the season.

The Vikings outscored the Griffins 15-4 in the third quarter to pull away.

Mt. Vernon Academy 38

Freshman Stacy Coblentz scored 22 points and junior Sydney Mast added 16 for the host Comets (5-9).

Bowling

Tallmadge 2,464,
St. Vincent-St. Mary 2,255

Nick Krainess rolled a 223 high game and had a 412 high series to lead the Blue Devils.

Zach Sweik led the Fighting Irish with a 223 high game and a 431 high series.

Wrestling

Wadsworth 55,
Walsh Jesuit 20

Connor Gray (106 pounds) won by technical fall, Jordan Schleigh (113) won by decision and Kagan Squire (132) won by technical fall to lead the Grizzlies over the visiting Warriors.

Chris Baughman (145) and Cody Gordon (152) each won by pin for the Grizzlies.

Ravenna 39, Southeast 24

Senior Tylor Brokaw (160), a 2011 state qualifier, won by a pin and Brandon James (152) and Bill Cutlip (170) each won by decision, but the Pirates suffered a Portage Trail Conference loss to the host Ravens.
